This blog is an independent study site developed and managed by a Seattle University student. It seeks to inform and influence the public about the dangers dolphins and orca whales are currently facing in places such as Taiji, Japan, and Seaworld, respectively. After viewing each documentary, I will conduct research about each film by seeking out any public opinions, policy changes, and current advocacy regarding each of the issues.
By viewing, analyzing, and further researching the effects of The Cove, Blackfish, and other marine mammal documentaries, I hope to demonstrate how these films are creating a dialogue between the newly-informed public and those advocating to change how these extraordinary creatures are treated.
